PIMCO Strategic Income Fund, Inc. announced earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended January 31, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported net investment income of $10,850,875 or $0.27 per share against $10,287,814 or $0.26 per share a year ago. Net realized and change in unrealized loss was $3,147,121 or $0.08 per share against $5,391,283 or $0.14 per share a year ago.
For the full year, the company reported net investment income of $40,241,977 or $0.99 per share against $42,319,971 or $1.05 per share a year ago. PIMCO Strategic Income Fund, Inc. (the Fund) is a closed-end management investment company. Its investment objective is to generate a level of income that is higher than that generated by high quality, intermediate-term United States debt securities. It also seeks capital appreciation to the extent consistent with this objective. It invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in a combination of income-producing securities of non-corporate issuers, such as securities issued or guaranteed by the U.S. or foreign governments, mortgage-related and other asset-backed securities issued on a public or private basis, corporate debt obligations and other income-producing securities of varying maturities issued by United States or foreign (non-United States) corporations or other business entities, including emerging market issuers, and municipal securities (the 80% policy).
