Optima Telekom reported earnings results for the first six months ended June 2018. For the period, the company recorded a consolidated net loss of HRK 3.3 million in the first half of 2018, compared to a net profit of HRK 5.7 million a year earlier. Despite the positive contribution from operating results of the first six months of 2018, the net result is lower by HRK 9.0 million compared to the previous year, mostly as a result of higher depreciation costs and financial costs deriving from the merged H1 Telekom. Total income rose 24.1% year-on-year to HRK 270.2 million in the six months through June, owing mostly to the contribution of the merged H1 Telekom's revenue. Consolidated earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 7.8% to HRK 51.7 million, on the back of the H1 Telekom merger and the achievement of synergy effects in costs, which greatly contributed to the optimization of the overall business.
