Ehpad group Emeis, formerly known as Orpea, reported an 11.3% rise in first-quarter sales on Tuesday, boosted by higher average occupancy rates, the opening of new establishments and price increases.

Sales came to 1.37 billion euros, compared with 1.23 billion in the first quarter of 2023.

The company also posted an occupancy rate of 85.1%, up by around two percentage points, driven by international business.

Emeis has a total of 1,040 retirement homes, clinics and serviced residences in operation, 37 more than at the end of the first quarter 2023.
