Offshore Drilling Services of Mumbai added a new feather to its cap by organizing the second Virtual Global Roadshow for Charter Hiring of Offshore Rigs on 10 January 2022. The first Virtual Global Roadshow for Charter Hiring of Jack-up Rigs and Anchor Moored Rigs was organized on 5 July 2021. The benefits of first Virtual Global Roadshow were clearly manifested with enhanced participation of new vendors in the rig tenders.

In order to further enhance participation of global players in tenders for Charter Hiring of Offshore Rigs, both Jack-up and Deepwater rigs, 2nd Edition of Roadshow was staged on virtual platform under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Director (Technology & Field Services) Om Prakash Singh.

The occasion was graced by Director (T&FS) Om Prakash Singh, ED- Chief Drilling Services (DW & SW) Arun Jaiswal, ED-HDS (DW) S K Dobhal, ED-Head DS (SW) V V Prasad, ED-Head MM K P Mishra, GGM Head (F&A) K C Ramesh, ED-LMDS-(DW) M Porcia, CGM-Head (P&C) Sanjay Jain and other senior officers of ONGC. The program was compered by GM (D) Pradeep Soni.

Total 23 Global and Local Business Partners, from various countries attended the meeting and evinced their interest in the event.

These players play a key and prominent role in Drilling Value Chain by providing Offshore Rig Resources.

The formal session was declared 'Open' by Director (T&FS), after playing ONGC Anthem.

Director (T&FS) emphasized the importance of building partnerships in order to succeed and achieve long-term goals for any organization. Key underlying principle of transparency, equity and fairness to all stakeholder was the key highlight of his address. On behalf of ONGC, Director (T&FS) assured the global community of Rig providers to honor these principles while dealing with business partners and prospective business partners.

He further assured that interests of the business partners will be fully protected following all the relevant rules and contractual provisions during the tendering process and contract period. ONGC workplace is committed towards safety with no harm to personnel, environment or resources. Broad long terms goals and vast operations of ONGC were shared by Director (T&FS). ONGC is always committed to honor contract and in spite of downturn in oil prices, activity level of ONGC has never been reduced. ONGC has never tried for early termination or forceful price reduction which is the key performance indicator. Objective of the Roadshow is for attracting more competition in our Offshore Rig Tenders, was clearly spelled out urging the participating vendors to be a part of the ONGC bandwagon for Drilling activities.

The opening of the event was followed with a video Presentation prepared with the help of Corporate Communications which further proceeded by a Power point presentation by EE (D) Tarang Tushar, GGM (D) R K Hangotra and DGM (MM) DS Mumbai Rajesh Danave, with following key highlights:

  • Key tender conditions, initiatives taken by ONGC for transparent processing of tenders, invoices etc.
  • Common pitfalls and precautions to be taken by the bidders, while filling and submitting Bids.
  • Vendors were informed of ONGC Tender portal, https://etender.ongc.co.in/irj/portal and VIMS system

The Presentation was followed by an interactive session with the participating vendors, wherein varied views/suggestions were shared and queries sought by the vendors were addressed by ONGC. The vendors appreciated market oriented initiative taken by ONGC.

The Roadshow was concluded with Vote of Thanks by Mr Arun Jaiswal, He summarized the key take ways of the session and urged vendors to participate in the ongoing tenders P46JC21003 for J/up rigs as well as upcoming tenders.
