OGE Energy Corp. reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2023. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was USD 589.2 million compared to USD 791 million a year ago. Revenue was USD 605 million compared to USD 803.7 million a year ago. Net income was USD 88.4 million compared to USD 73.1 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.44 compared to USD 0.37 a year ago. OGE Energy Corp. is a holding company whose primary investment provides electricity in Oklahoma and western Arkansas. The Company reports its operations primarily through a single segment, the electric company. Its electric company operations are conducted through its wholly owned subsidiary, Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company (OG&E), which generates, transmits, distributes, and sells electric energy in Oklahoma and western Arkansas. OG&E provides retail electric service to approximately 896,000 customers in Oklahoma and western Arkansas throughout a service area that covers 30,000 square miles including Oklahoma City, Fort Smith, Arkansas, and other large communities with their contiguous rural and suburban areas. The Companyâs other operations primarily include the operations of the holding company and other energy-related investments.
