Octodec has appointed Stephanie Ainsworth as chief risk officer, with effect from 1st September 2016. Stephanie is an admitted attorney with in excess of 15 years’ experience and has been the legal manager and compliance officer for the Octodec group of companies for the past 6 years. She will be the first female chief risk officer ever appointed by Octodec and will be taking over from Peter Kruger, who remains a director of City Property Administration Proprietary Limited, the property and asset management company acting on Octodec’s behalf. Stephanie will attend Octodec’s Risk Committee meetings by invitation. In addition to providing legal counsel to the Octodec group of companies, Stephanie is also the vice- chairperson to the legal committee of the South African Property Owners Association. As chief risk officer, Stephanie will use her technical legal ability acquired in the property industry, to assess and mitigate not only the legal and regulatory risk inherent in concluding business transactions, but also managing the operational and strategic risk of the organisation.
