NST to Support Recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial

Disclosures (TCFD) and Join the TCFD Consortium

Nippon Steel Trading Corporation (NST) is pleased to announce that we have pledged our support for the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD※ １ ) and joined the TCFD Consortium※ ２ , a consortium of companies, financial institutions, and other organizations supporting the recommendations.

"Contributing to a decarbonized society and environmental conservation" represents one of our six key issues (materiality) related to ESG management. Aiming to achieve carbon neutrality by fiscal 2050, we will aim to contribute for a realization of sustainable society by both "Global environmental conservation" and promoting economic activities through the reduction of CO2 emissions and the provision of eco-solution products.

Going forward, we will strive to disclose information in accordance with the TCFD's framework to help stakeholders better understand the climate change-related risks and opportunities associated with our business.

The TCFD was established by the Financial Stability Board (FSB) in 2015 following a request from the G20. The organization encourages companies to assess the financial impact of climate change-related risks and opportunities on business management, and to disclose relevant governance structures, strategies, risk control measures, indices, and goals.

In the consortium, companies, financial institutions, and other organizations supporting the TCFD recommendations work together to drive initiatives forward, and discuss how to ensure effective information disclosure by companies and enable financial institutions, etc. to make appropriate investment decisions based on disclosed information.
