Nippon Signal Company, Limited Announces Consolidated Earnings Results for the First Quarter Ended June 30, 2021

Nippon Signal Company, Limited announced consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2021. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of JPY 17,925 million against JPY 15,711 million a year ago. Operating profit was JPY 576 million against JPY 626 million a year ago. Profit attributable to owners of parent was JPY 305 million against loss of JPY 373 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share were JPY 4.90 against loss of JPY 5.99 a year ago.
Nippon Signal Co., Ltd. is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the manufacture and sale of railway signals, smart roads, automatic toll collection (AFC), smart parks and other business activities. The Company operates through two business segments. The Transport Infrastructure segment is mainly engaged in the manufacture, sale and maintenance of railway signal security equipment and road traffic safety systems. The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Solution segment is mainly engaged in the manufacture, sale and maintenance of AFC equipment and parking equipment. Through its subsidiaries, the segment is also involved in the maintenance, design and sale of electrical products, the development of software, the provision of non-life insurance agency services, the editing of technological information, as well as the maintenance and construction of train station equipment, among others.
