Cable manufacturer Nexans says it has developed, in conjunction with Trimet, a new product capable of meeting demanding technical requirements in terms of mechanical properties and conductivity while reducing its carbon footprint.

As part of a joint project, they have developed a material containing recycled aluminum for the production of aluminum wires used in electrical cables, which until now have been made exclusively from primary aluminum.

Nexans plans to maximize the use of electrical wires containing recycled aluminum by 2023. This will enable the Group to meet growing customer demand for products with a favorable eco-balance.
