Nexans announces that it has signed a contract with KGHM for the supply of copper cathodes over the years 2023-2027. The contract calls for the annual delivery of around 22.8 kilotonnes (kt) to more than 27.8 kt of cathodes.

'Currently, we are striving to ensure that our copper is of the highest quality, but also that it is produced in the most efficient and environmentally friendly way', emphasizes Miroslaw Kido?, Vice Chairman of KGHM's Management Board.

"We have chosen to commit to a 5-year Evergreen contract with them to secure a large part of our future cathode needs for our French lapping plant in Lens," adds Christophe Allain, Nexans Global Portfolio Director, Non-Ferrous Metals.

Nexans and KGHM's copper smelters/refineries have joined the Copper Mark to promote responsible copper production worldwide.
