Nestlé reports that new research has shown that a specific proprietary bioactive blend can help improve natural sleepiness and sleep quality.

' People spend around a third of their lives sleeping. The quantity and quality of sleep have an impact on people's overall health and well-being.'

Nestlé Research in Switzerland and the Sleep Centre at the National University of Singapore, where the study was conducted, collaborated on the clinical trial.
During the clinical trial, researchers tested the impact of a new nutritional solution containing a blend of bioactive ingredients on sleep.

' The results show that the combination of a natural source of tryptophan, vitamin B, magnesium, zinc and nutrients that naturally facilitate the body's secretion of melatonin, together with mulberry leaf extract, reduced both measured and self-reported time to sleep by around 15%' says Nestlé in its press release.

Thanks to the presence of natural mulberry leaf extract, a traditional ingredient used in China, the bioactive blend reduces the postprandial rise in blood glucose levels after the evening meal, and the glycemic variation during the night.

R&D scientists have developed a new milk powder containing the patented bioactive blend to promote natural sleepiness and improve sleep quality. This blend can now be found in the new Yiyang Wanning milk powder formula, which has just been launched in China and is specifically targeted at people aged between 40 and 60.
