Mostotrest PJSC is embarking on the first stage of the construction of a multilevel traffic interchange over the Kursk-bound railway lines of the Moscow Railway, in the area of Novokhokhlovskaya Street in Moscow.

The Company won the contract in the competition announced by the Moscow City Road and Bridge Construction Management Authority.

The new interchange will become part of the metropolitan Southeast Throughway, designed to ensure distribution of traffic flows in the middle and peripheral zones of Moscow, bypassing the central districts.

In the future, following the completion of all stages of construction, the interchange will link Ryazanskoye Avenue and the Third Ring Road (TRR). According to the contract, as part of the first stage, Mostotrest will build an overpass from the TRR over Kursk-bound railway lines of the Moscow Railway, as well as a traffic interchange at the intersection of the overpass with Novokhokhlovskaya Street, including five multidirectional exits and a six-lane connection road with a length of 1,2 km between the Southeast Throughway and the Third Ring Road. As part of the area road network development, Mostotrest will rebuild the Novokhokhlovskaya Street section along the Nizhegorodskaya Flyover (from house No. 12 to the Novokhokhlovskaya Station of the Moscow Central Railway Ring), widening the section to 4 lanes. The cost of the first stage of construction will be RUB6.2 billion (including VAT).

The construction of the traffic interchange under the contract will include the following exit ramps with a total length of more than 1 km: a right-turn exit from the TRR-Southeast Throughway connection road onto the centre-bound Volgogradskoye Avenue; a left-turn exit from the TRR onto Novokhokhlovskaya Street; a left-turn exit from Novokhokhlovskaya street onto the TRR; a right-turn exit from Novokhokhlovskaya street towards the Southeast Throughway; a right-turn exit from Nizhegorodskaya Street onto Novokhokhlovskaya Street; an exit from Nizhegorodskaya Street onto the TRR.

The project will involve construction of complex infrastructure in dense urban areas in close proximity to existing infrastructure facilities and railway lines with heavy rail traffic, and in the area of extensive and dense network of underground utility lines, including those to be rearranged.
