Mitsui : Confirming COVID-19 infection case in Tokyo Head Office

Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Tatsuo Yasunaga, herein after 'Mitsui') has confirmed that two employees (herein after 'Employee A', 'Employee B') stationed in Tokyo Head Office have tested positive for COVID-19.

JUL.1 WED, last day of work at office
JUL.7 TUE, symptoms of fever
JUL.9 THU, PCR testing
JUL.10 FRI, test proves positive
Currently, under home treatment

Employee B

JUL.8 WED, last day of work at office
JUL.9 THU, symptoms of fever
JUL.10 FRI, PCR testing
JUL.12 SUN, test proves positive
Currently, under hospital treatment

Mitsui has established an emergency response committee since January of this year to put in place and implement global measures to minimize the risk of infection and protect the health and safety of employees and customers.

The measures Mitsui is implementing abide by all policies and related guidelines from Government, as well as relevant Prefectural authorities, and we will continue our efforts to contain the spread of the virus and maintain the awareness of our employees and other stakeholders.
