Michelin has unveiled Pilot® Sport All-Season 3+(TM) tires at the 2016 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, United States. The new tires expand the company's Pilot Family of performance tires. The MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport A/S3+ tires are designed, engineered, and manufactured in North America.

The company will launch these tires in March this year. The Pilot Sport 3+(TM) tires will be available in 90 sizes, ranging from 175/65/R15 to 285/35/ZR20 with fitments for a variety of vehicles including Corvette, BMW M3, Audi A5, and Ford Mustang. The tires are ideal for use in regions with light-to-moderate winter weather, offering improved snow traction and wet/dry grip.

Michelin attributes the performance enhancements to a distinctive tread design mated with the company's proprietary Helio+ Compound(TM) and biting edges in the tread, offering 28% better snow traction than Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 31 tire. In addition, the new tires deliver excellent wet and dry braking, combined with variable thickness sipes and circumferential grooves. The Pilot Sport A/S3+ also features Michelin's Variable Contact Patch 3.0, which helps distribute forces and temperatures more evenly over the contact patch, according to the tire-maker.

Michelin has been focusing on new product developments and has launched some new tires lately. For instance, in June 2015, Michelin introduced the Premier LTX tire for sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and light trucks. In September 2014, the company extended its X® LINE(TM) Energy range of tires with the introduction of two new tires: X® LINE(TM) Energy(TM) D2 drive tire and X® LINE(TM) Energy(TM) F front tire which comes in 385/55 R 22.5 size.
