Green chemicals group METabolic EXplorer announced on Thursday that it had been placed in receivership by the Paris Commercial Court, which will now be able to consider offers to take over its activities.

The industrial fermentation specialist, which has been subject to a safeguard procedure since March, explains that this decision should enable it to examine possible offers to take over its assets.

In particular, the court will have to examine Avril's offer for part of MetEx's commercial and R&D activities.

The deadline for submitting bids is June 19.

In a press release, the company draws investors' attention to the fact that, given the amount of its debts, the proceeds from the sale of the activities of the three companies in the group will not enable a payment to be made to shareholders, as the company is to be wound up by the courts.

The suspension of trading in METabolic EXplorer shares is therefore maintained.
