WELLINGTON, New Zealand--Mercury NZ Ltd. said wind-power investments will boost its annual operating earnings by more than a quarter.

The utility on Tuesday forecast 590 million New Zealand dollars ($414 million) of operating earnings for its financial year ending June 2022, up 27% from NZ$463 million in the previous year.

The company said earnings would be lifted by its Turitea wind farm and its recent acquisition of New Zealand wind farms from Tilt Renewables Ltd.

The company forecast ordinary dividends of 20 NZ cents/share for fiscal 2022, up from 17 NZ cents/share in the past year.
