Greetings from Washington, DC! With the 57th inauguration of the President of the United States just weeks away, our hotels and associates in DC are finalizing the details after months of planning and preparations. Marriott® has deep roots in Washington, DC, dating back to 1927 when the company was founded by J.W. Marriott and Alice S. Marriott. Our first hotel, the Twin Bridges Marriott, opened on January 18, 1957, shortly before the second inauguration of President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Today, we manage over 20% of the guest rooms in Washington, DC, with over 103 hotels and more than 15,000 associates in the greater Washington, DC metro area. With that many hotels across six wonderful brands, we offer more choices to meet particular travel needs than any other hotel company in DC. For those still looking to experience and participate in the inauguration festivities, there is still plenty of availability at our hotels. Several of our hotels are offering some great rates at a 2-night minimums or less on Marriott.com. We hope you will be able to join us in Washington, DC for this historic event.
