Macy's will begin closing four New York stores, including one at Henrietta's Marketplace Mall. The retailer announced in the filing that 101 workers will be laid off at the Henrietta store by the time it closes. Stores in Queens as well as in Onondaga and Broome counties will also close in April. Overall, the chain will lay off 406 workers among the four stores, although it previously said that some workers will be offered jobs at other stores. Some also may receive a severance package. Macy's announced that it has either closed or will shutter 68 stores and cut an additional 6,200 jobs as more shoppers go online to buy merchandise. Some of those positions were expected to be management-level jobs.
