(Alliance News) - Leonardo Spa announced Friday that it has signed a framework agreement with operator PHI Group for 12 AW189 helicopters to support the global energy market starting in 2025.

The agreement, which consists of orders and options, also includes a support partnership, with a service contract, an MRO contract - maintenance, repair and overhaul - and training solutions for the AW139 and AW189 models.

In addition, the company disclosed that it has signed a contract with the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Defense of Greece, which is enhancing its emergency response capabilities with the introduction of three Leonardo AW139 helicopters.

Under the recently signed contract, the company expects the new aircraft to be delivered in 2026 with two units dedicated to health and disaster relief missions and one unit to transport emergency response teams.

The order also includes full technical and logistical support and a training package.

The AW139s will be deployed by the fire department on behalf of the ministry from a base in Attica.

On Friday, Leonardo closed 0.5 percent in the red at EUR23.47 per share.
