One lucky Landstar business capacity owner (BCO) will drive home from the 2017 Landstar BCO Appreciation Days in Jacksonville, Florida in a brand new 2017 Peterbilt 579. The pierce candy red Peterbilt 579 features a 455-HP PACCAR MX-13 engine 10 speed Eaton Fuller transmission.
According to Peterbilt, the 2017 version of the 579 was built with maximum driver comfort in mind. Compared to previous years' models, the cab is wider and provides 8 more inches of room between seats and an additional 2.9 inches in depth. Also, a 45 percent increase in glass, provides owner-operators with best-in-class visibility.
The 2017 model truck was designed with a new dash and sleeper. The 579's spacious titanium colored interior provides an 80 inch high roof sleeper, a premium pocket spring mattress, and a rear wall storage cabinet. According to Peterbilt, the ergonomic dash was crafted for driver efficiency, increased visibility and improved driver comfort. The truck's new sound abatement technology minimizes outside noise, giving owner-operators a more peaceful ride.
Equipped with an enhanced fuel efficiency package, the 579 takes fuel savings to new levels. Complete with aerodynamic styling, optimized powertrain, low rolling resistance tires and SmartTire Pressure Monitoring System, the 579 increases owner-operators' bottom line with a 14 percent improvement in fuel efficiency over previous models, according to Peterbilt.
The Landstar Deliver to Win truck giveaway, powered by Comdata, will be held on the first night of the two-day event in Jacksonville this year, January 26-27. Landstar BCO Appreciation Days are held each year to thank BCOs for their service and dedication to safety.
