The Finance Ministry in cooperation with the Bank of Thailand and Thai Bankers Association today launched PromptPay, the money transfer service which requires transferees to link their national ID or mobile phone number to their accounts, for person-to-person transactions. The service will increase convenience and save transaction costs while driving the implementation of the national e-payment system.

Seen at the official launch of PromptPay are (from left) Dr Veerathai Santiprabhob, the Bank of Thailand's governor, Finance Minister Apisak Tantivoravong, Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak, Dr Somchai Sujjapongse and Preedee Daochai, president of the Thai Bankers Association permanent secretary of the Finance Ministry.
