On February 11, during a working visit to the Russian Federation, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has visited KAMAZ.

Accompanied by Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Tatarstan, and Sergey Kogogin, General Director of KAMAZ PTC, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev familiarized himself with the basic facilities of the unified technological process of KAMAZ trucks production. The governmental delegation fr om Kazakhstan visited an engine plant wh ere the guests were shown the work of a V8 engine assembly line and an R6 engine assembly line, as well as a cab frame plant. In addition, the leader of Kazakhstan examined the final production of KAMAZ - a truck assembly plant. The guests saw how a cab assembly line and the main assembly line were functioning.

At the end of the tour, the members of the delegation visited a presentation of economic and industrial potential of the Republic of Tatarstan and an exhibition of K5 generation KAMAZ vehicles, which were arranged at the company's truck assembly premises.

Kazakhstan's auto market has always been and is still one of the most important export markets for KAMAZ. Products of the auto giant are sold in the republic mainly via the company's own distribution network. In 2021, the share of KAMAZ on the market of new trucks in Kazakhstan made 45%.

Nowadays, KAMAZ is implementing three large-scale projects in Kazakhstan. They include construction of the KamLitKZ iron casting plant in the industrial zone of Kostanay, with an area of over 30 thous. square meters. Construction works are under way there. Serial production is to be launched in the second half-year of 2024. The same industrial zone will host a plant for production of final drives with a capacity of about 74 thousand units per year. Both plants are being built based on the world's best practices with a focus on cutting-edge solutions of green production and global environmental protection standards. To add to this, the company is boosting localization of driving axle housings production.
