ASX ANNOUNCEMENT 15 June 2022

KALiNA Receives Environmental Permit for Saddle Hills

Project is now shovel-ready with major permits in place

Waste Heat to Power ("WHP") technology leader, KALiNA Power Limited ("KALiNA" or the "Company") (ASX: KPO) is pleased to report that its KALiNA Energy Centre - Saddle Hills project has been granted approval under the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act ("EPEA Approval") from Alberta Environment & Parks.

The EPEA Approval has been granted for a 64MW gas-fired combined cycle facility to be equipped with dry-low NOx emission controls and utilizing the KALiNA Cycle® technology. The permit allows for a wide range of operating scenarios to ensure the facility can respond to electricity market conditions while also meeting stringent environmental requirements.

This represents the second major permit for Saddle Hills received by the Company's Canadian subsidiary, KALiNA Distributed Power Limited ("KDP"). In October 2021, KDP received approval from the Alberta Utilities Commission ("AUC") further to its Rule 007 Application for Power Plants. Electricity from the facility will be sold into the Alberta electricity market and interconnected on ATCO Electric Ltd's distribution system. Together, these two major permits authorize the construction and operation of the KALiNA Energy Centre - Saddle Hills facility.

KALiNA's Managing Director Ross MacLachlan said: "Securing EPEA Approval is a key development for our Company and together with our AUC permit ensures we now have a shovel-ready project. Having secured these major permits demonstrates to prospective funders and our supply chain partners a clear regulatory path forward. As we continue to engage with several interested parties seeking to fund Saddle Hills, we are confident that this important milestone will reinforce their interest".

As previously reported, KDP is assembling a portfolio of sites to deploy its distributed generation program in select areas in Alberta. KDP is developing projects, which if all brought online, would represent over 300 MW of generation.

Further updates will be provided on the progress of the Saddle Hills project and other important developments that will further shape the Company's growth and development.
