J&K Bank yesterday inaugurated Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) in Budgam. District Development Commissioner, Budgam Mohammad Rafi snapped the ceremonial ribbons in presence of President & Zonal Head Kashmir (Central) Bashir Ahmad Lone, President Advances and Asset Planning (A&AP) Shafat Banday, Vice president P K Tickoo, Director RSETI Tariq Ali, Project Officer DRDA Budgam, BDO Budgam and other officials. A good number of youth participated in the function.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC Budgam appreciated the role played by J&K Bank in the overall economic development of the state.
Extending his gratitude to the Bank's leadership, he said, "Such institutes are the need of the hour for nurturing entrepreneurship among the state youth to create a culture of enterprise and self-reliance. We need to be thankful to J&K Bank for all this."
The Bank, he said, was already expanding banking and other financial services to the far flung areas of the state to enable people of all the regions avail the benefits of these services, which play a pivotal role in their economic upliftment.
He informed the gathering that the government had already identified land for the said institute and the transfer of possession would take place sooner rather than later.
Meanwhile, one week training program on 'Entrepreneurship Development' also commenced at the institute, wherein unemployed youth of the area shall be imparted need-based trainings to enhance their capacities of self-reliance and self-employment.
Earlier, Director of the institute, Tariq Ali welcomed the guests and briefed them about the purpose and background of the establishment of RSETI.
President and Zonal Head Kashmir (Central), Bashir Ahmad Lone, also spoke on the occasion.
He said, "The inauguration of this institute evidences seriousness of the bank to impart skills to the youth so that growing menace of unemployment is not only checked but responded to with better and viable economic solutions." J&K Bank is a movement to empower the people of state financially so that they face up to the challenges of changing economic situations, he added.
President (A&AP), Shafat Ahmad Banday assured the gathering that the trainees at the institute shall be guided in such a way that they won't face any hassles with regard to finances for their viable proposals.
He concluded the function by presenting the vote of thanks.
