In his new role, this former HPE executive will be responsible for the Xeon processor family, graphics processing units (GPUs) and gas pedals for high-performance computing (HPC).
He will also play a role in implementing the 'AI everywhere' strategy unveiled by the semiconductor manufacturer.
Justin Hotard will also join the Group's Executive Committee, reporting to CEO Pat Gelsinger.
Yesterday, Intel announced its intention to accelerate its development in artificial intelligence (AI) through the creation of a dedicated subsidiary, with the backing of investment fund DigitalBridge.
The entity, called 'Articul8', will focus on generative AI software based on the technologies and intellectual property that the Californian group has built up over two years of incubation.
