Hoya Corp. announced consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2016. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of ¥122,594 million against ¥127,645 million a year ago. Profit before tax was ¥32,475 million against ¥31,179 million a year ago. Profit attributable to owners of the company was ¥25,055 million or ¥64.46 per diluted share against ¥24,059 million or ¥57.99 per diluted share a year ago. Net cash generated from operating activities was ¥23,187 million against ¥27,832 million a year ago. Free cash flow was ¥4,243 million against ¥23,496 million a year ago. Assets attributable to owners of the company as at December 31, 2016 were ¥1,291.52 per share. Capital expenditure was ¥7,691 million against ¥5,118 million a year ago. - information technology (33.1%): manufacturing of electronic products (78.2% of sales; photomasks for semiconductors, masks and devices for LCD screens and hard disks) and imaging products (21.8%; optical lenses, optical glasses and laser equipment);
- other (0.9%).
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Japan (28.9%), China (8.2%), Asia (24.7%), Europe (19.3%), the United States (15.1%), the Americas (2.4%) and others (1.4%).
