NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa (AP) _ Heartland Express Inc. (HTLD) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $17.7 million.

On a per-share basis, the North Liberty, Iowa-based company said it had net income of 22 cents.

The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 22 cents per share.

The trucking and logistics company posted revenue of $155.8 million in the period, which missed Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $161.6 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $70.8 million, or 87 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $645.3 million.

Heartland Express shares have climbed 4.5% since the beginning of the year. The stock has dropped 10% in the last 12 months.
