Grand Gulf Energy Limited announced that drilling operations are progressing on schedule on the potentially company-making pure-play helium well, Jesse-2, in SE Utah. The Aztec 1099 drilling rig spudded the Jesse-2 helium well on 14 March 2023, and has reached total depth for the 12.25" surface hole section at 3,135 feet. The rig is currently running the 9.625" casing before drilling the 8.75" intermediate hole section.

The Jesse-2 well is anticipated to take approximately a month to reach the projected total depth of 8,150 feet true vertical depth subsea in the middle Mississippian Leadville Dolomite formation.
