Agni Air Pvt. Ltd. has put up for sale some assets via an auction by a consortium of banks, comprised of Grand Bank Corp., Sunrise Bank and International Leasing & Finance Co., Ltd., that financed the carrier which has failed to meet the loan repayment deadline. The consortium has issued on January 3, 3013, a seven-day auction notice for the sale of Agni's five aircraft-three Jetstream 41s and two Dorniers-spare parts and land plots in Bhaktapur.

Sunrise Chief Executive Officer Surendra Man Pradhan said the notice was issued in consensus with Agni's promoter Sudhir Basnet. "We issued the notice after the airline failed to resume operations," he said. Basent himself can bring a potential purchaser during the auction, he added.
