Genmab A/S announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Rolf Hoffmann as a board observer. It is expected that after a period as board observer, Mr. Hoffmann will stand for election to company's board of directors at the company's 2017 annual general meeting. As a board observer, Mr. Hoffmann will participate in board meetings but he will not be a member of the board and he will not be able to participate in any votes taken by the board. Mr. Hoffmann has had an extensive career in the international pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector. Until his retirement at the end of July he was Senior Vice President, United States Commercial Operations at Amgen. Prior to this he served as Amgen's Senior Vice President, International Commercial Operations. He also spent over 17 years at Eli Lilly in various sales and marketing and general management positions in South Africa, Latin America and Germany. He has held a number of board posts including the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill International Advisory Board and the Boards of The International School of Zug and Luzern, the Council of the Americas and the Swiss- American Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the US Health Leadership Council and was previously Chair, Latin America for PhRMA. Mr. Hoffmann was also recently appointed to the faculty of the University of North Carolina Business School as an Adjunct Professor for Strategy and Entrepreneurship.
