On the occasion of the publication of its annual results, Generali announces a 10.3% increase in its proposed dividend, to 1.28 euros per share, thus meeting its cumulative dividend target for the period 2022-24.

The Italian insurance company is claiming record adjusted net income for 2023, up 14.1% to 3.57 billion euros, and operating income also at an all-time high, up 7.9% to 6.88 billion.

Gross written premiums rose by 5.6% to 82.5 billion euros, driven by a 12% increase in property & casualty (P&C) business, and the combined ratio improved by 1.4 points to 94%, while the new business margin reached 5.78%.

"The strong performance in 2023, with a positive contribution from all segments, demonstrates the successful execution of our strategy", according to CEO Philippe Donnet, who also sees Generali benefiting in the future from the acquisitions of Conning and Liberty Seguros.
