Gazprom Neft has been recognised as Russia's most transparent company in 2020, based on the high quality of its corporate reporting. The company won the annual 'Pro-Active Corporate Policy in Information Disclosure' awards, established by the Interfax and AK&M news agencies, both of which are accredited by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation for handling the disclosure of corporate information. The awards jury also included representatives from the Moscow Exchange, the Association of Independent Directors, and the Russian Financial Communications and Investor Relations Alliance (ARFI).

The jury's key criteria in selecting the winner included the comprehensiveness and timeliness of disclosures in companies' reports, corporate events, information on corporate governance, the synchronicity of disclosures for Russian and international investors, and companies' proactivity and mindfulness in information policy. Interactive formats, the informational content and value of news releases, and attention to environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues were also taken into account.

The jury were also impressed by the way Gazprom Neft's website has been designed for investors and shareholders (offering the most extensive archive of all nominees), and also commended the company's support for 'single window' disclosure.

Gazprom Neft has published a Sustainable Development Report every year since 2007, informing the public of its adherence to the principles of Russia's Corporate Governance Code, and to environmental and social responsibility. Gazprom Neft became a signatory to the UN Sustainable Development Goals in 2020, as well as becoming one of the leading organisations in the international Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) ratings.

'Openness, for us, is one of the most important elements in our responsibility to investors, partners, clients, residents in those locations in which we operate - and to society, as a whole. We are committed to being a fully transparent company, and one that discloses both its financial and its operational results while also detailing its corporate, social and environmental policy. And we're not talking just about successes here, but also problems. All of which means the company remains effective and efficient - the rapidly changing environment in which we are operating notwithstanding.'
Alexander DyukovChairman of the Management Board, Gazprom Neft
'In choosing the winners, we are committed to identifying those companies that set the market standard in terms of transparency of information, as well as focussing on those issues of greatest interest to both investors, and the public. Gazprom Neft manages to tell a compelling story about its long-term business strategy, its implementation of this, its initiatives in ESG, and the company itself, as an employer.'

Notes for editors

The annual 'Pro-Active Corporate Policy in Information Disclosure' awards were established by the Interfax and AK&M news agencies in 2003, recognising those companies excelling in full and timely disclosure of information for investors. Accredited news agencies are responsible for ensuring the timely disclosure of information for Russian stock market participants. Almost 150,000 company updates are published on these agencies' newsfeeds every year. Publicly accessible centres for the full disclosure of corporate information have been set up on both agencies' websites, including Interfax's e-disclosure.ru.
