The lower profit before taxation for the first quarter ended 31 March 2012 by MYR 53.1 million compared to the corresponding period last year was mainly due to margin compression resulting from the revision in gas tariff. However, profit is expected to be lower than previous financial year due to the full impact of the revised tariff which was enforced on the June 1, 2011.
