Winter is coming! Yes, it's that time of year again when the days get shorter and the nights get longer, the temperatures start to drop, and you find yourself padding out like the Michelin man to stay warm on that overnight or day session. You still end up feeling freezing cold, but it's not all about whacking on those layers; there's a bit more to it and Klobba have dealt with many of the issues when it comes to surviving the winter months.

With the coat and trousers being both thermal lined and 100% waterproof, you will be staying warm and dry throughout the year. This is key when it comes down to fishing through the winter and allows you to enjoy your session, whatever the weather.

KLOBBA PEACHSKIN THERMO WATERPROOF JACKET

The jacket comes in a duo-tone olive green with a peach skin outer which is soft and warm and looks very nice indeed! It has some nice features, such as a removable hood which can be zipped on or off and the hood can also be buttoned up around your neck for extra warmth.

The pull cords also allow for adjustability for head sizes. The hood also features a peak, so it's ideal for cap wearers like myself as the hood nicely rests on top and overall provides some cover from the rain.

A press stud storm flap over the main front zip and buttons helps keep that blowing wind and rain out. There's just no way the elements are getting into this jacket and it really locks in the warmth. You will have no worries with pockets either as the jacket features seven button-fastened pockets in total.

On the inside, you have a lower left pocket and the outside has four lower pockets and two upper pockets just below the chest. The pockets are also fleece lined for that extra warmth for your hands.

There is an adjustable pull cord waist if you want to tighten up the jacket around the waist. You just pull the cord and it tightens - an easy-to-use feature if you fancy a snugger fit and pulling the toggles down will loosen the waist. While on the subject or adjustability, the jacket has adjustable Velcro wrist cuffs, ideal for allowing another layer to fit under the jacket and for keeping the wind and water out.

It also reduces the bagginess which can sometimes get in the way. There is plenty of movability as well. I didn't find the jacket tight around the arms which can be an issue with some jackets when it comes to casting.

KLOBBA PEACHSKIN THERMO WATERPROOF TROUSERS

You can't have a jacket without matching trousers and these over trousers are great; my favourite feature has to be the elasticated waist. After several pot noodles and bacon rolls on the bank, this is an absolute must for myself!

However, it doesn't just come in handy for moulding around your growing gut, but the elasticated waist allows for you to wear another layer underneath.

Personally, I found the Fishing Republic jogging bottoms to be a perfect match, as the trousers go straight over with ease and if you want to use a belt you have the belt hoops if you require them.

The trousers fasten with your typical press-stud type button and zip; I much prefer these types of buttons as they are less likely to fall off, compared to the traditional loosely sown on ones. You have two top waist pockets and one lower left side patch covered pockets, which also are push studded, and just like the jacket they are also fleece lined.

Working your way down the trousers you come to the knee area - probably the most important area along with the seat. The knee and seat area are made from reinforced taslan which means you're going to be confident these trousers are not going to get torn or wear out while kneeling or sitting down which is ideal.

Not only that, but being waterproof you're not going to get the dreaded wet knees or backside! Coupled with the thermal lining, these are just one pair of trousers I never want to take off.

Another nice feature to the Klobba wear are the Velcro ankle straps. These little beauties will tighten your trouser around the boots stopping any mud, rain and cold air passing up the leg, with the addition of keeping the trousers off the ground and getting dirty.

FINAL THOUGHTS

If you're in the market for waterproofs and thermals why not go with this high quality combo? forget buying thermal layers and heaps of other clothing items to pad out; the Klobba Waterprroof Thermal Suit has it all in one package. Not only are you getting everything several layers would give you, it's also waterproof.

The jacket itself doesn't look half bad down the pub! It's ideal to suit the fishing scene and it doesn't look out of place as your everyday casual coat. It would certainly make for a useful general going out jacket when you're not fishing, shooting or out for a walk.

Strong reliable materials and useful features makes the Klobba suit a fantastic product and one that you can trust will keep you warm and dry this winter. You can get both the jacket and trousers as a pair or one or the other; the choice is yours!

Whatever you do, just get on the Klobba!

Tight Lines,
