The boots I currently use for fishing are absolutely useless in the winter months. I needed something suitable for all weather conditions that are waterproof, insulated, and are easy to get on and off - especially when your hands are freezing and the boots are caked in mud. These Klobba Easy-Fasten boots tick all those boxes. Let me give you a quick rundown of why these are a must-have purchase!

First Impressions:

They give a lovely first impression. The packaging shows incredible attention to detail and the boots appear lightweight with strong Velcro fastenings. The boots definitely look the part and will go perfectly with existing winter suits and fishing trousers. If you prefer all matching gear, Klobba does a wide range of waterproof and winter suits that would go nicely with them.

The boots are a good alternative to the more conventional Wellington boot, with the waterproof lower perfect if you are staying out of deeper water. The best thing about these boots is The Velcro fastening on the boots. It makes ease of putting the boots on and off, so they are ideal if you struggle with tying or untying laces due to any medical problems or freezing weather. The Velcro fastening comes in handy if you want to get your boots off quickly at the end of your fishing session and don't want to get mud all over the car when changing footwear in the rain.

They would also be effective as a quick slip-on when night fishing, as when the Velcro fastening is open, the tong of the boot comes right forward so its easy to get your foot in and off you go to strike into your run.

Testing:

For the field test on the bank, the weather wasn't freezing temperatures but cold enough for added layers. The wind was howling and the rain just soaked everything. When first putting the Klobba boots on, I realised how compatible they really are, all thanks to the well-padded Thinsulate lining. Even when walking up and down the lake to different swims, my feet were really warm.

The thing I find with a lot of boots, especially with thermal or Thinsulate lining, is that your feet get too warm, which then causes your feet to sweat and feel uncomfortable. I really didn't get that with these boots. On top of that, the waterproof lower half of the boot ensures your feet stay dry when walking through mud, puddles, grass, and even walking in the shallows of lakes or rivers.

Now the grip, in my view is the most important thing. Now the weather is getting more extreme when out on the banks, there's going to be mud, snow, and other obstacles that are going to make a good day into a nasty fall and nobody wants that, especially if you have just had a bite. There's nothing worse than losing a fish.

These boots have great grip, due to the deep, non- symmetrical grooves that allow for such a strong footing. The boots have held steady when I've been walking down rain-soaked banks and along the water's edge, they only slipped a had full of times but quickly came to a stop when getting the grip. There is a fair bit of depth to the sole so there's plenty of distance between your foot and the cold, wet ground. The boots are very stable and snug so there's less chance of twisting your ankle when walking on uneven surfaces and with the heel to toe bumper adds that extra bit of protection to the boot and your feet from bangs and knocks.

The design of the boots is similar to that of a wellington boot, they have the Klobba logo on the rear of the boot and embossed on the front flap of the boot and defiantly look well with normally trousers, waterproofs or winter suit.

Final thoughts I would recommend these boots they are reasonably priced, they work well with most clothing and ideal for all weather situations although I wouldn't use them during the warmer days as they will defiantly get too hot and become uncomfortable.

They have really good grip, I like the depth of the grip/sole and how comfortable they are when worn for long sessions walking up and down the banks, I've been using them lure fishing and covered some good ground with no issues. They will not only just work well as a fishing boot, but as an all round boot when the bad weather comes in.
