Entech confirms its ramp-up, securing progress on three major storage projects, in France and around the world

  • GEG framework agreement: order placed for the fifth site
  • M ost important battery in Pays de la Loire brought into service
  • 1 9M V A storage facility delivered in M auritania

Quimper, March 19, 2024 - 7:45am CET - Entech (FR0014004362 - ALESE), the technology company specialised in smart renewable energy storage and management, confirms its ramp-up on increasingly large-scale projects, a core pillar from its development strategy to support the rapid growth of renewable energies. With its flawless execution, Entech is showcasing its technological and operational capabilities to effectively address major projects.

"We are very proud to be part of these three major projects, which will make it possible to balance the network in France and bring decarbonized electricity to a remote site in Mauritania. These advances highlight Entech's ability to successfully carry out large-scale projects, a core pillar from our development strategy. I would like to congratulate our teams for this excellent start to the year, and also thank our customers for their confidence", comments Christopher Franquet, Entech's Chairman and founder.

WORK LAUNCHED ON THE FIFTH SITE FROM THE GEG (GAZ ÉLECTRICITE DE GRENOBLE) FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT

Entech has received an order for the fifth battery storage system planned when the framework agreement with GEG was signed in May 2023. This fifth system will be delivered in September 2024 in Sainte-Hélène-du-Lac, to be brought online in October. With its 10MWh capacity, it will follow on from the first four sites currently being installed by Entech and scheduled to be brought into service in spring 2024. These storage systems aim to offer frequency regulation services to the electricity network, contributing to the various open system service markets in France.

Entech won the public call for tenders issued by GEG to supply battery storage systems for a maximum of six sites in France. With a total maximal capacity of 50MWh this contract represents Entech's largest storage project to date. Entech's equipment and solutions will replace existing frequency regulation assets, such as thermal power plants for instance.

MOST IMPORTANT BATTERY IN PAYS DE LA LOIRE BROUGHT INTO SERVICE

Entech has brought into service its storage system at the Nantes Saint-Nazaire port site. This facility, connected directly to the network and with a capacity of 3 MWh, will help regulate the electricity network by injecting or extracting energy depending on the peaks and troughs in energy consumption. This project is being led by Enerdigit, a demand response aggregator for big electricity consumers and particularly industrial firms. Looking beyond the technical aspects associated with this storage system, the largest to date in the Pays de la Loire region, this project has been carried out in line with the initial schedule set, reflecting Entech's successful structuring of its operations throughout 2023.

18 MVA STORAGE FACILITY DELIVERED IN MAURITANIA

Entech is moving into the commissioning phase of its largest export project: an 18MVA/9MWh storage facility in Mauritania for a leading developer. This solution, designed by Entech, aims to smooth the electricity generated by a 40MWp solar facility in the Mauritanian desert. Entech has supplied a complete system, comprising six battery storage containers and a conversion system. Entech's design ensures the reliability required to operate in remote areas and difficult environmental conditions.
