Eni and KazMunayGas (KMG) have begun construction of a 250 MW hybrid power plant combining renewable energies and gas in Zhanaozen, Kazakhstan.

The project, the first of its kind in Kazakhstan, integrates solar, wind and gas to supply stable, low-carbon electricity to KMG subsidiaries.

It will use innovative technologies for a low-carbon future.

Eni has been active in Kazakhstan since 1992, operating in the oil, gas and renewable energies sectors, notably through its subsidiary Arm Wind with an installed capacity of 150 MW.
