The new head of the Karlsruhe-based energy company EnBW, Andreas Schell, has spoken out against considerations to extend the operating life of the Neckarwestheim 2 nuclear power plant.

"We have reached the point of no return," said Schell on Monday at the "Handelsblatt Energy Summit 2023" in Berlin. Politicians have decided to allow the last three nuclear power plants in Germany to continue operating until April 15. His company is following suit. "I simply can't imagine it going beyond that." The fuel element factor is only one aspect of this.
