ELAN 3Q23 Earnings Report

ELAN Microelectronics Corp. (code: 2458), a leading human-machine interface solution provider today announced its 3Q23 unreviewed financial results. As NB clients had obviously destocked successively, the momentum of pull-in components had improved compared with the previous quarter, and there were quite a lot of rush orders, the 3Q23 sales reached to NT$3,501 million, with an increase of 15.1% QoQ. Moreover, compared with the same period last year, it increased 24.2% YoY, due to the consumer electronics market recovering slowly based on the inventory problems being gradually relieved.

3Q23 gross margin increased by 310 bps QoQ to 47.2%, mainly due to product mix factors. The gross margins of Touchscreen Controller, MCU & Fingerprint Sensor were higher than those in 2Q23. Meanwhile, 3Q23 OP margin reached to 26.7%, with operating profit increasing by 66.2% QoQ and 75.6% YoY. The net profit and EPS attributable to the parent company were NT$766 million and NT$2.69, respectively.

Based on the consumer electronics products market demand entering the off-season, our outlook for 4Q23 expects sales to be around NT$2,900 - NT$3,100 million, gross margin to be around 46%-48% and operating margin to be around 20.3%-24%.
