Edison has built seven new photovoltaic plants in Piedmont, in the provinces of Alessandria and Turin, with a total capacity of 45 MW.

According to a note from the energy company controlled by the French giant Edf, four of the seven new plants built have gone into operation in recent months; three, on the other hand, whose work was completed in 2023, are awaiting connection to the national power grid, expected by the end of 2024.

These are joined by two other photovoltaic plants, previously in Edison's portfolio, in the province of Alessandria and in operation since 2011.

The nine plants have a producibility of 70 GWh per year, capable of meeting the energy needs of 26,000 households and avoiding the emission of more than 30,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, the statement stressed.

Thanks to the commissioning of these plants, Edison confirms its growth path in the development and construction of new renewable capacity, and plans to invest 5 billion euros between 2023 and 2030, to increase green installed capacity from the current 2 GW to 5 GW.
