IRVINE, Calif. … Dave Bailey has been named vice president, Technology, Aerospace Group. Based in Los Angeles, California, Dave will report directly to Nanda Kumar, president, Aerospace Group, and functionally to Jeff Lowinger, senior vice president and chief technology officer, Industrial Sector.

In this role, Dave is responsible for developing and implementing the group's technology strategy and providing overall direction for engineering and technology enhancement initiatives. In addition, Dave will have overall responsibility for driving engineering and innovation processes and the development of new products, services, systems, and solutions.

'Dave's extensive knowledge and experience will allow us to develop disruptive technologies related to More Electric Aircraft (MEA), Intelligent Aircraft and additive manufacturing creating additional value for our customers and putting us in a good position to win content on future platforms.' Kumar added, 'Dave has been involved with innovation and new technology throughout his career. In addition to holding a number patents, he has successfully transitioned new technology to a number of platforms most notably on the B787 aircraft.'

Dave began his career at Eaton in 2013 as the director, Engineering, for the Fuel and Motion Control Systems Division, Aerospace Group. Prior to that, he worked for Crane Aerospace as vice president, Landing Systems; senior director, Engineering; and director, Technology, Europe. He also worked for Coventry University as a senior lecturer in Aerospace/Avionic Systems; Adwest Engineering as a teaching company associate; and Lucas Aerospace as systems engineer.

Dave holds a PhD in aircraft systems from Cranfield University, School of Aeronautics; an MBA from Warwick Business School, Warwick University; a Master of Science degree in control systems, University of Sheffield; and a bachelor's degree in electrical and electronic engineering, University of Salford.
