GALESBURG, MI … Power management company Eaton has modified the company's ServiceRanger4 on-line diagnostics and service software with enhancements that now include the addition of tailored packages for dealers, fleets and service locations. The modifications allow for better and expanded servicing of Eaton automated transmissions and hybrid powertrain systems. French and Spanish language versions are also being planned for launch this year.

Eaton further announced that the number of worldwide licensees to ServiceRanger4, which was upgraded in November 2013, recently surpassed 12,000 subscribers.

'We have exceeded our expectations around market adoption since making significant changes less than two years ago,' said Bill Auvil, manager, Service Solutions, Eaton. 'We attribute this to the fact that customers using the service are better equipped to reduce vehicle downtime and subsequently increase vehicle uptime and profitability. With these enhancements, those same offerings and capabilities will now be available to a growing number of service outlets in the trucking industry.'

ServiceRanger4 offers several distinct advantages over the previous version, including:

  • Improved, user-friendly and intuitive interfacing that has resulted in clear, crisp screen layouts.
  • High-visibility color schemes that allow for easier daylight viewing.
  • Enhanced troubleshooting procedures that link directly to fault codes.
  • Real-time updates to product and service literature, as well as access to Service Ranger4 updates.
  • New communications links that bring together customers' computers and Eaton support staff.
ServiceRanger4 is available on the Roadranger website (www.Roadranger.com) and requires an access code that can be purchased with a credit card for activation. Once payment is made for the secure, e-commerce website, customers are instantly notified by email with a personalized code.
