SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) _ DSP Group Inc. (DSPG) on Wednesday reported a loss of $30,000 in its third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the San Jose, California-based company said it had a loss of less than 1 cent. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 16 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 9 cents per share.

The internet phone and wireless chipset company posted revenue of $37.8 million in the period.
