Kakao Page Corp. agreed to acquire additional 5% in D&C Media Co.,Ltd. (KOSDAQ:A263720) for KRW 21.2 billion on August 20, 2020. As per terms, additional 0.61 million shares will be acquired in cash. The consideration is expected to be paid on August 21, 2020. Post completion, Kakao Page Corp. will hold 2.8 million shares in D&C Media Co.,Ltd. accounting for 23.1% stake. The Board of Directors of Kakao Page Corp. resolved the deal on August 20, 2020.
D&C MEDIA CO., LTD. is a Korea-based company principally engaged in the book publication and distribution business. The Company mainly provides genre novel contents, such as romance, fantasy, martial arts, mystery, science fictions (SFs). Its major novel brands include L Novel, Papyrus, Seed Novel & It Book, Black Label Club, D&C Books and D&C Webtoon. The Company supplies paper books through bookstores and book rental shops, as well as provides e-books through platforms such as Kakao Talk, Naver, Ridibooks and One Store.
