Civmec : Manager Appointed to Western Australian Government Role

CIVMEC MANAGER APPOINTED TO WESTERN

AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT ROLE

SINGAPORE - 27 April 2018 - Civmec Chairman Mr. James Fitzgerald congratulated the company's General Manager of Defence, Commodore Mike Deeks CSC RAN (Rtd), on his appointment by Western Australia Premier the Hon Mark McGowan as the next Agent General for Western Australia based in London, as announced yesterday.

Mr. Deeks will commence his term in July 2018 and will focus on enhancing commercial links between Western Australia and the United Kingdom, with an emphasis on the defence industry.

Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Deeks said he was proud of what had been achieved at Civmec during his time in the role and in positioning the company for its expansion into naval shipbuilding through investment in its people, skills and infrastructure.

"Civmec's involvement in delivering the next generation of Australian OPVs represents an incredible opportunity that the team will do great justice. I can say from my heart that Civmec is one of Australia's best companies and is a powerhouse of energy with a dedicated workforce and a culture of delivering quality," said Mr. Deeks.

In congratulating Commodore Deeks, Civmec's Chairman, Mr. James Fitzgerald said he was grateful for the contribution Mike had made to the company.

"Mike leaves having made a significant contribution to the company in helping to position us for the next exciting phase of growth - the delivery of our portion of the multi-billion-dollar Offshore Patrol Vessel contract."

The company will commence a thorough search process to recruit a replacement.
