Kumamoto Forest Generation LLC ("Project Company"), jointly founded by Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. (Headquarters: Higashi-ku, Nagoya; President & Director: Kingo Hayashi, "Chubu Electric Power"), TOHO GAS Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Atsuta-ku, Nagoya; Representative Director, President: Nobuyuki Masuda, "TOHO GAS") and ENE-VISION Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chikusa-ku, Nagoya; President: Masanori Yamaguchi, "ENE-VISION") completed construction of the Yatsushiro Biomass Power Plant (Yatsushiro, Kumamoto Prefecture, "the plant") and started commercial operation on June16.
The plant is a wood-fired biomass power plant with an output of 75,000 kW, and is expected to generate approximately 480 million kWh per year.
We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of the local community and relevant parties in the construction of the plant.
The three investment companies and Project Company will operate the plant with the utmost consideration for the safety and security of local residents, and will continue to contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society through its operation.
