CAMCE helps run Ethiopia's sugar factory

Sinomach subsidiary China CAMC Engineering Co Ltd (CAMCE) will be in charge of follow-up services for the Tana Beles No 1 Sugar Factory, which was also built by CAMCE, in the Amhara regional state of Ethiopia.

The project covers factory operations during the crushing season and subsequent equipment maintenance. It proves that CAMCE has developed progressively in the field of African sugar engineering.

The Tana factory has a sugarcane processing capacity of 13,000 tons per day and a refined sugar production capacity of 1,500 tons per day, with processed sugarcane totaling up to 500,000 tons during the manufacturing season. Nearly 10,000 jobs have been created, helping grow the region's economy.

The sugar factory is also equipped with generators which can export excess power to relieve local power supply pressure in the dry season.
