Cavium Networks (NASDAQ: CAVM), a leading provider of semiconductor products that enable intelligent processing for networking, communications and the digital home, today announced that Alco Electronics Limited has adopted Cavium's WiVu? wireless display technology. Alco is demonstrating products integrating WiVu technology in their private meeting room at the 2011 consumer electronics show, including an RCA home theater system which allows Blu-ray quality 2D and 3D video to be distributed to multiple TVs in the home.

Utilizing industry leading Super Low Latency? (SLL) technology and H.264 video compression, WiVu can support interactive applications such as high performance multi-room gaming, real-time video streaming, and mobile display applications. Cavium's PureVuTM products integrate the company's SMART technology which provides a robust mechanism to support Quality of Service (QoS), advanced copy protection and multi-room video transmission to multiple displays.

?As a broad-range Consumer Electronics supplier, we see many applications for Cavium's WiVu Technology including Blu-Ray players, Kitchen TV's, Home Theatre Systems and multi-room HDMI adapters,? said Stephen Jorge, VP of Sales at Alco. ?We recognize the importance of enabling consumers to share their digital content throughout the home, and believe that WiVu is an ideal solution.?

Cavium's PureVu video processors support both 2D and 3D wireless display and home video distribution, and are designed to enable broad-range consumer electronics suppliers, such as Alco, to develop high quality, feature rich wireless video streaming products for connectivity and sharing of locally stored and internet streamed content. Using standard 802.11n WiFi technology, WiVu shares the wireless radio already integrated into many CE appliances and provides a cost effective solution for wireless whole home video distribution.

?We are very excited to be working with a company such as Alco Electronics which ships products under the Venturer and RCA brands in North America,? said Manoj Gujral, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Broadband and Consumer Division at Cavium. ?We look forward to a close collaboration with Alco on bringing a multitude of innovative wireless media connectivity products to the market.?
