Cathay Pacific Airways announced that Charlie Stewart-Cox has been appointed as the airline's General Manager South Asia, Middle East and Africa with effect from January 21, 2013. Stewart-Cox will be responsible for overseeing the business and operations of Cathay Pacific and Dragonair in the three regions and will be based in Mumbai, India. Stewart-Cox joined Cathay Pacific in September 1982.

Stewart Cox will replace Tom Wright, who retires from the position after 27 years' of service with the Group. Among his various roles in the Company Wright took up an assignment as General Manager Middle East, India and Africa based in the Kingdom of Bahrain in February 2006 and moved to Mumbai in August 2007. He was overseeing Cathay Pacific and Dragonair's passenger and cargo operations in South Asia, Middle East and Africa from then until 20 January 2013.
