Notice Concerning Suspension of Power Generation at Assets Under Management

Canadian Solar Infrastructure Fund, Inc.(hereinafter referred to as "CSIF") hereby announce regarding power plants owned by CSIF that, according to the report by Canadian Solar O&M Japan K.K.(hereinafter referred as "CSOM"), which is O&M operator for CSIF CS Marumori-machi Power Plant has been stopped generating power and CS Takayama-shi Power Plant has been limiting power generation. Details are as follow.

  • 1. CS Marumori-machi Power Plant

CSOM found that significant abnormal values were confirmed while insulating oil analysis tests were conducted on the main transformer of this power plant on March 28, 2022. Based on the results of the analysis test, there was a risk of an accident if the main transformer continued to operate, so we decided to shut down the main transformer on April 5, 2022, and power generation was suspended until the replacement of the main transformer was completed.

Future restoration is scheduled for the end of April 2022 after the main transformer replacement is completed.

  • 2. CS Takayama-shi Power Plant

Due to snow accumulation since December 2021, we confirmed that panels and mounts were damaged in this power plant on February 7, 2022, so we have shut down some strings (circuits) related to the damaged areas to prevent electrical accidents. After two snowplows, a detailed investigation on March 15, 2022, confirmed that approximately 15% of the total panels were damaged and further shut down the strings associated with the damaged areas. Due to this damage, the current output of the power plant is approximately 43% of the design value. The restoration of the strings is scheduled for several months after procurement of damaged parts, repair of the girders, implementation of measures to prevent recurrence, and reinstallation of the panels.

In terms of the rent revenue for both CS Marumori-machi Power Plant and CS Takayama-shi Power Plant, CSIF could receive a portion equivalent to 70% of the monthly power generation forecast from the lessee as a basic rent. Therefore, the impact of the suspension of power generation on the rent received by CSIF is negligible, and there will be no revision to the CSIF's forecast of management status for the fiscal period ending June 30, 2022 (10th Fiscal Period) and the fiscal period ending December 31, 2022 (11th Fiscal Period).
